Tankersley Shoots Bogey-Free 66 as No. 13 Men’s Golf Sits in Second at Pauma Valley Invitational

PAUMA VALLEY, Calif. – The No. 13 Ole Miss men's golf team is just three strokes off the lead after 18 holes of action at the Pauma Valley Invitational. The Rebels posted (276, -8) with three players carding under-par opening rounds.
Cameron Tankersley shot bogey-free 5-under to lead Ole Miss Monday at Pauma Valley Country Club.
After an opening birdie, Tankersley would add another circle to the card at the difficult par-3 16th. After six consecutive pars, he would birdie three of his final five holes to post 66.
The round marked a team best seventh in the 60s this season as the senior sits one off the lead heading into Tuesday's second round.
Daniel Tolf and Tom Fischer also posted red numbers with Tolf shooting 2-under 69 and Fischer finishing at 1-under 70.
After an over par start, Tolf would find back-to-back birdies at 16 and 17, making the turn at even par. He would birdie the par-4 fifth and closed his round with an eagle at the par-5 eighth.
Fischer's under-par round gives him a team best 13 on the year.
Collins Trolio finished at even par and Cohen Trolio posted 3-over 74. Finn Meister who is competing in the individual slot also shot 3-over-par.
The Rebels will begin round two Tuesday at 11:05 a.m. CT going off in 13-minute increments.
