Strong Day by No. 12 Men’s Golf Sends Rebels to Title Match at SEC Championship

SEA ISLAND, Ga. – The No. 12 Ole Miss men's golf team began Saturday with a 4.5-0.5 victory over Texas A&M before taking down the No. 1 Auburn Tigers in the semifinals, advancing to the title match at the 2026 SEC Championships.
Quarterfinals vs. Texas A&M
The No. 4 seeded Rebels handled business early Saturday morning, taking down No. 5 seed Texas A&M 4.5-0.5 in the quarterfinals.
Tom Fischer was first off for Ole Miss and set the tone with a 3&2 win over Jaime Montojo. Cameron Tankersley delivered the second point, defeating Aaron Pounds 4&3 to get Ole Miss within one of punching their ticket to the semis.
Collins Trolio delivered that point with a 2&1 victory over Shiv Parmar.
Daniel Tolf halved his match against Kris Kuvaas and Cohen Trolio's ended while he was 2UP through 16.
Semifinals vs. Auburn
Once again, Fischer got things started for the Rebels against Cayden Pope of Auburn, picking up a 3&1 victory with six birdies. While the top-ranked Tigers would claim the second matchup of the day, Collins Trolio won his matchup against the No. 1 ranked amateur in the world with a 2&1 win behind seven birdies.
Trolio walked off the win with a chip-in from off the green to get Ole Miss their second point.
With Auburn taking a second matchup to draw it even at 2-apiece, all eyes turned to Tankersley against Josiah Gilbert. While Gilbert held an early lead, Tankersley stepped out in front on the 12th hole, holding a one-up lead heading to the final tee box. The two would draw even by each carding a par, earning Tankersley the win and giving Ole Miss a 3-2 victory over Auburn.
The Rebels will now play for the SEC Championship against Florida on Sunday, with the matchup televised on the SEC Network beginning at 7 a.m. CT.
Ole Miss will go for their first SEC title since 1984.
