He’s In the Game: Lacy Named Cover Athlete for EA SPORTS™ NCAA College Football 27

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Following a breakout 2025 campaign which saw him set several program records, Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy was named one of three athletes to grace the cover of the upcoming EA SPORTS™ College Football 27 Standard Edition video game.

Lacy is joined on the cover by Oregon quarterback Dante Moore and Miami wide receiver Malachi Toney.
"College Football 27 promises to be an incredible year, one in which we're able to start reflecting the modern era of college football more authentically and with more depth for our players than ever before," said Evan Dexter, VP of Franchise Strategy and Marketing. "Our cover athletes – Kewan Lacy, Malachi Toney, and Dante Moore – represent that modern era by transcending programs and drawing in generations of college football fans, regardless of their school pride. We built the game for those fans and we can't wait for them to see the full reveal of College Football 27 on June 4."

The three Standard Edition athletes delivered standout performances to earn them the coveted cover spot. Lacy was a force during his first season with the Rebels. The sophomore ran for more than 1,500 yards and scored a single-season program record 24 rushing touchdowns, which ranked second in the country. Lacy scored at least one touchdown in 14 of his 15 games, which included multiple scores in seven of them. He had a hat trick of touchdowns three times.

"I would play this game for hours with my family growing up, so now being on the cover of EA SPORTS College Football 27 representing Ole Miss feels surreal," said Lacy. "It's truly a once in a lifetime opportunity."
More than just a goal line threat, Lacy had 38 bursts of at least 10 yards in 2025, including 13 that went for at least 20. On three occasions, Lacy took off for more than 50 yards, including a 73-yard touchdown run in the semifinal round of the College Football Playoff.

Lacy rushed for at least 100 yards seven times in 2025. His best overall outing came against Florida on Nov. 15, when he rushed for 224 yards with a trio of touchdowns. His efforts in that game earned him multiple national weekly awards, including Maxwell Award National Player of the Week and SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week.

Lacy's impressive season culminated in a first team All-American nod from the FWAA, as well as an All-SEC first team nod. He was Ole Miss' first-ever Doak Walker Award finalist last season and is poised to make another run at the distinction as a junior in 2026.

Lacy and the Rebels are sub-100 days until the 2026 season kicks off with a neutral site battle against Louisville on Sept. 6. Kickoff in Nashville, Tennessee, is set for 6:30 p.m. CT.
