Volleyball Earns 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award

OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss volleyball program has been named a recipient of the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award, as the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced this week.
To be eligible for the award, a college or high school team must maintain a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
The Rebels have now taken home the award for five consecutive seasons and for the ninth time in program history.
The award marks a continuation of strong academic success for the program under head coach Bre Henry. Recent graduate Cammy Niesen earned SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year honors and was the university's female nominee for the prestigious SEC H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Postgraduate Scholarship. Niesen headlines a lengthy list of high GPAs, led by sophomore Bella Bonanno, who has maintained a 4.0 GPA.
Following an exhibition match on the road at Arkansas State on Aug. 22, the Rebels will open the regular season at home against Southeastern Louisiana on Friday, Aug. 28.
