We are committed to providing comprehensive, high-quality medical services to every student-athlete. On-site medical services provided include, but are not limited to, prevention, evaluation, and treatment of injuries and illnesses, rehabilitation services, pre-participation exams, nutritional counseling, psychological counseling, and drug education and counseling.

The Ole Miss athletic training team is comprised of 16 certified full-time staff, 8 orthopedic consultants, and various health care professionals located throughout the Oxford area. Our professional staff is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the health and well-being of over 400 student-athletes participating in 16 Division I sports in the Southeastern Conference.

MISSION STATEMENT

It is the mission of the athletic training department to provide at the highest level of current education, preventative measures, strength training, treatment and rehabilitation for both emotional and physical needs of our student-athletes. Members of the staff strive to support the Ole Miss Athletics core values of academic excellence, integrity, social responsibility, student-athlete welfare, university integration, community engagement, and competitive excellence.  

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN ATHLETIC TRAINING

Interested in furthering your career and want to further develop your athletic training skills? The Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) prepares future health care professionals wishing to pursue a career in athletic training as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC). The program aims to provide students a diverse academic and clinical experience by nurturing an educational foundation for continued professional growth. A strong connection to Ole Miss Athletics, area high schools, professional sports teams, clinics, hospitals, physician’s offices, and industry helps provide students the opportunity to learn from premier leaders in the field of athletic training. Overall, this program is intended to provide improved access to health care and additional health care providers in communities that are lacking. Through a collaborative effort and comprehensive approach, the MSAT program will ultimately improve the overall climate of the state of Mississippi and beyond.
