Cody Woodiel is in his first season with the Rebels entering 2026, where he’ll take on co-offensive coordinator and tight end responsibilities.

Woodiel came to Oxford by way of Miami, where he spent three seasons and reached the College Football National Championship in 2025. It served as his first opportunity coaching at the Power 4 level.

In 2025, Miami tight ends accounted for four touchdowns and nearly 400 receiving yards. What stands out about this squad is each’s ability to remain available. Elija Lofton and Alex Bauman played in 15 and 16 games, respectively, while Luka Gilbert made an appearance in 10 games.

Woodiel’s most impressive act of coaching was assisting in the blossoming of Elijah Arroyo in 2024. Arroyo was one of the best tight end prospects that season, garnering All-ACC second team status while serving as one of Cam Ward’s favorite targets. He was selected in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks, and was active for the team’s Super Bowl LX win over the New England Patriots.

He spent 2022 as an offensive analyst with the Hurricanes, where he helped coach tight end Will Mallory to a career year. Mallory, an All-ACC selection, was selected in by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2023 NFL Draft.

He got his first shot at Division I coaching in 2019 as Charlotte’s tight end coach from 2019-20. During his first season, the tight end unit helped Charlotte lead C-USA in rushing average (203.0/gm) with a school record 2,639 rushing yards and 26 rushing TDs. Tight ends also accounted for over 100 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 2019.

Woodiel joined the Oregon staff as an offensive graduate assistant coach in 2017, following three seasons as the offensive line coach at Itawamba Community College (Miss.). In 2016, Itawamba was third in the country (NJCAA) with 565 yards per game and 36.1 points per game. He was an offensive analyst in his final season with the Ducks.

Before joining Oregon from Itawamba, Woodiel was hired at Murray State as the offensive line coach and was there from December to March. Prior to his time at ICC, Woodiel spent two years as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Troy University.

A native of Hernando, Miss., Woodiel split time between tackle, guard and tight end for two seasons at Troy (2011-12). He was selected to play in the Casino Del Sol all-star game after starting all 12 games and playing 800 snaps for the Trojans as a senior. That season, the Troy offensive line finished 25th in the NCAA, allowing just 1.25 sacks per game.

Woodiel earned his Bachelor of Science degree in education from Troy. He is married to his wife, Lauren.
