Austin Cody was named assistant men's golf coach in August of 2020 and begins his fourth season with the Rebels. Cody arrived in Oxford after three years at UAB, including the 2019-20 season as the associate head coach of the Blazers.

During the 2022-23 campaign and Cody’s third year with Ole Miss, Cody assisted in breaking program records as the Rebels wrote their names in the history books as they broke the program record for the lowest total for a single round at the 2022 SEC Match Play Championship with a 268 score. Cody guided four different Rebels to earn SEC Weekly honors. During the SEC Championships, Cody and Malloy directed the Rebels to finish in sixth place in stroke play and advance to the match play portion for the first time since 2017. With their in-season success, the Rebels went on to punch their sixth straight ticket to the postseason, competing at the 2023 NCAA Norman Regional.

In his second season coaching the Rebels, Cody helped the team achieve new heights and milestones as the Rebels would punch their ticket to the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2017 and just the sixth time in program history. Under Cody's guidance, the Rebels finished with the team's second-highest finish at NCAAs in program history, finishing 14th overall after a dramatic comeback helped the team survive the day three cut. Cody also helped in Jackson Suber's continued dominance in his final season of collegiate golf, with Suber earning PING Second Team All-America and Golfweek Third Team All-America honors.

Cody made an immediate impact in his first season at Ole Miss, helping the Rebels return to NCAA Regional play. Alongside head coach Chris Malloy, Cody assisted in guiding Jackson Suber to an All-American season. The junior Rebel earned the first two wins of his career (Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate, LSU Invitational) on his way to becoming the 11th All-American in school history and First Team All-SEC. As a team, Ole Miss fired two of the best 10 rounds in program history and advanced to the NCAA Stillwater Regional.

During his time in Birmingham, Cody helped lead the Blazers to new heights. The program cracked the nation’s top 25 in the fall of 2019, reaching its highest ranking since 2013. Under his guidance, three Blazers earned All-Conference USA selections, including two first team selections.

In his second year at UAB, Cody coached the Blazers to a pair of tournament titles. Taking down No. 10 Georgia along with 13 other teams, UAB won the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate in Ruston, Louisiana. Starting their spring portion of the season, the Blazers emerged victorious in the 17-team Loyola Intercollegiate (Goodyear, Arizona).

In Cody’s first year, he helped the Blazers finish first in stroke play at the Conference USA Championship and advance to the conference championship match. First team all-conference honoree R.J. Keur went on to represent the Blazers in the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional.

Before beginning his coaching career, Cody was a four-year letterwinner at Duke from 2010-14. A regular in the Blue Devils’ lineup, he picked up 14 career top-20 finishes and put together 22 under-par performances. In 2013, he helped the Blue Devils win the ACC Championship. As a freshman in 2011, he recorded a 5-1-1 match play record in the Callaway Collegiate on his way to the semifinals of the NCAA Championship.

In the classroom, Cody was named a three-time ACC All-Academic team honoree. He graduated from Duke in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and minors in markets and management studies.

Cody had an illustrious prep and junior career. He was a standout at Pinewood Preparatory, where he was named the region player of the year five consecutive seasons and was a seven-time all-state selection. Cody was also Lowcountry Golfer of the Year on four occasions. He amassed 18 tournament titles over the duration of his junior golf career, including two South Carolina Golf Association championships.
