OUTDOOR: Competed at seven meets during the outdoor season, including the long jump and triple jump at the SEC Championships … finished fourth by posting a career-best 12.50m/41-0.25 in the triple jump at the LSU Invitational, which ranks her seventh in school history … also placed eighth in the long jump at LSU (5.55m/18-2.5) … posted a mark of 12.34m/40-6 to place third in the triple jump at the Yellow Jacket Invitational, while placing ninth in the long jump with a season-best distance of 5.71m/18-9 … finished fifth in the triple jump (12.04m/39-6) and sixth in the long jump (5.68m/18-7.75) at the Virginia Challenge … sixth place in the triple jump (12.03m/39-5.75) at the Alabama Relays.
INDOOR: Competed at six meets in both the long jump and the triple jump … finished 18th in the long jump with a season-best 5.72m/18-9.25 and 21st in the triple jump (11.74m/38-6.25) at the SEC Championships … leapt to a season-best 12.40m/40-8.25 in the triple jump at the Vanderbilt Invitational for a seventh-place finish and No. 5 slot in the school record books … finished ninth at the Auburn Invitational with a long jump of 5.62m/18-5.25 … in her Ole Miss debut, won the triple jump (11.96m/39-3) and placed third in the long jump (5.68m/18-7.75) at the Gene Edmonds Cup.
BEFORE OLE MISS: Three-time PIAA state champion in the triple jump ... also won a state title in the long jump her senior year ... set a PIAA state record in the triple jump with her personal-best mark of 40-3.5 ... state runner-up in the 100 and 200 meters as a senior ... set Brookville Area school records in the 100 (11.98), 200 (24.72), 400 (58.50), long jump (19-0.5) and triple jump (40-3.5), and part of the school record 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams ... helped the basketball team to a district championship as a senior ... also played soccer.
PERSONAL: Born Aug. 2, 1994 ... daughter of James and Laurie Newsome ... twin sister of fellow Rebel Aisha Newsome.
