Zachary Hopp returns to Oxford in 2026-27 after spending three seasons with the Rebels and two as the coordinator of operations - scouting and analytics for Ole Miss during the 2022-25 seasons.

Between his tenures at Ole Miss, Hopp served as the director of analytics and strategy for the Arkansas State men’s basketball program, contributing to analytics, scouting, and game preparation. His primary focus was assisting the head coach in offensive analysis and film edits. The Red Wolves offense finished ranked sixth nationally in offensive rebounding percentage, 10th in pace, 31st in points per game, 34th in three-point attempts per game, and 36th in free throw attempts per game.

Prior to his first stint at Ole Miss, Hopp spent two seasons as an assistant basketball coach at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. During his tenure, the Ichabods earned consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and captured the 2021 MIAA Tournament championship. Washburn also handed four-time national champion Northwest Missouri State two of its three losses over a 100-game stretch.

From 2018-20, Hopp served as a women’s basketball student manager at the University of Kansas, gaining experience in the daily operations of a Division I basketball program. His responsibilities included assisting with recruiting events, team meals, travel logistics, banquets, fundraising events, and summer basketball camps.

In 2019, Hopp gained international coaching experience as an assistant coach with Athletes in Action during a basketball tour of Israel. The opportunity allowed him to further develop his knowledge of international basketball, player development, practice preparation, and leadership.

Hopp also brings extensive experience from The Basketball Tournament (TBT), the nationally televised, single elimination summer basketball competition. Since 2018, he has served as an assistant coach for Eberlein Drive, now known as Davis Steel, contributing to the program’s consistently productive offenses and deep tournament runs. After several appearances in the championship game and national semifinals, the team captured the $2 million, winner-take-all championship in 2026.

Hopp graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor’s degree in sport management and a minor in business in 2021, and he completed his master’s degree at Ole Miss in Sport Analytics with an emphasis in Sport Performance in 2023.

His wife, Ashton, also serves on the Ole Miss basketball staff as the coordinator of operations. They are joined in Oxford with their daughter, Beverly.
