Maddie Beal
Maddie Beal joined the volleyball staff in August 2020. 

A three-time Academic All-Big 10 honoree, Beal, a middle blocker/opposite, played for Minnesota from 2014-2017, serving as co-captain in her senior season. She saw action during the Golden Gophers' NCAA Tournament run to the Final Four during her sophomore campaign (2015), playing in the first four rounds. 
 
Beal was a member of TCU's beach volleyball squad in 2019, rotating in with the No. 5 pair. Upon finishing her eligibility in Fort Worth, Beal returned to Minnesota, where she has been coaching at Vital Volleyball Club and also assisting as a coach with All-American Volleyball Camps. She also served as a member of AmeriCorps, working a local inner city middle school. 
 
The Colorado Springs, Colo., native has coaching in her blood- her father, Doug, played for Ohio State and later coached the Buckeyes and the U.S. Men's National Team, winning the gold medal in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
