Adam Hymel joined the Ole Miss coaching staff in 2019 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for football. His duties at Ole Miss include corrective and alternative exercise programming as well as return to perform and transitional training program development for injured athletes.
Before coming to Oxford, Hymel spent three years at Texas Tech University as the Director of Football Mobility & Agility. During his time at Texas Tech, he helped the Red Raiders to an appearance in the 2017 Birmingham Bowl.
Prior to his time at Texas Tech, Hymel served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Tulane University, working directly with football, baseball, track, and cross country.
From 2013-2014, Hymel was a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach for football at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he earned a master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science. In his two seasons there, he helped the Ragin Cajuns win their first Sun Belt Conference Championship in almost a decade and two consecutive New Orleans Bowl victories.
A native of South Louisiana, Hymel began his coaching career in 2012 as a graduate assistant on the Louisiana Tech football staff, working with both the strength and conditioning staff and the defensive line.
Prior to 2012, he was a member of the Louisiana Tech University football team from 2007-2011, where he was a two-time letter winner as a defensive tackle. During his Senior year, Hymel helped the Bulldogs to a WAC Championship and Poinsettia Bowl appearance. In the fall of 2011, Hymel graduated from Louisiana Tech with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and health promotion.
He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
