Briana Murphree became the assistant director at the FedEx Student-Athlete Success Center in 2016 after serving as a learning specialist in the academic enrichment department for the previous five years. She is responsible for payroll, tutorial recruitment, maintaining a caseload of students, the academic tutors as well as the summer bridge program, R.E.B.S. This program assists freshmen and transfers in making their transition to the University of Mississippi and stands for "Rising to Excellence and Building Success." Briana is also responsible for tutorial education, trainings and workshops for all academic enrichment part time staff members.
Murphree began her work experience with student-athletes in 2006 as a criminal justice tutor, worked with students in specific classes, and mastering the class content. In 2009 she became a mentor to student-athletes, assisting them with daily and weekly organization of assignments and time management. In the spring of 2010, Murphree was hired as an intern in the FedEx Student-Athlete Success Center. She worked as an intern until she became a learning specialist in January 2011. In 2016, Murphree became a member of N4A’s PDI faculty, Learning Specialist Track.
Murphree is a 2007 graduate of the University of Mississippi where she received a degree in criminal justice with an emphasis in corrections. Briana also completed her Master of Arts Degree in Higher Education/Student Personnel in 2015. Murphree is a native of Columbus, Mississippi where she graduated from Heritage Academy in 2002. Murphree has one child, Parker Murphree.
