John "Possum" Ross is in his 27th year at Ole Miss, including serving as the Assistant Director of Equipment Operations/Manning Center Services since 2005. He served as head equipment manager from 1996-2004, after having served as assistant equipment manager for two years from 1994-96. Ross oversees the purchasing and receiving of equipment for all sports with Nike and operates the day-to-day services of the Manning Center. The Olive Branch, Miss., native received his B.B.A. degree in marketing from Ole Miss in December 1993. While working on his degree, Ross was a student football manager for four years. Additionally, he was a member of the M-Club and served as a manager-trainer representative on the Ole Miss Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Ross is a member of the American Equipment Managers Association (AEMA). Ross is married to the former Cindy McGregor of Oxford. They have a son, John Clark, and a daughter, Taylor. Ross enjoys playing golf and tennis.
