Cross Country Travel To SEC Championships

OXFORD, Miss. - With four top 10 finishes each this season, the Ole Miss men's and women's cross country team prepare to race for the conference title at the SEC Championships this Saturday in Nashville, Tenn.

The women will run first, in a 5,000 meter race, followed by the men, who will be racing in the 8,000 meters. The championships will be held at the Vaughan Creek Course at Percy Warner Park in Nashville.

The Lady Rebels are coming off a third place finish in their last meet at the Memphis Tiger Invitational two weeks ago. Sophomore Lauren Beaulieu ran her fastest 5K time of the season and finished in fourth, her second fourth place finish of the season. Junior Kelly Gale ran close behind, finishing in seventh place, her third top 10 finish this year.

With their lowest finish an 11th place showing at the Southern Illinois Saluki Invitational, the Lady Rebels have show great improvement over last season, when they only posted one top 10 finish all season.

The Rebels are coming off a sixth place finish at the Tiger Invitational are paced by sophomore Tyler Simon and junior Scott Thompson, each with a top 10 finish at the Arkansas State Pizza Inn Invitational. The Rebels have four top 10 finishes, including three top three finishes this season and are looking to improve on last year's sixth place finish in the SEC Championships.
