Series Info: Saturday's meeting will be the 46th between the Rebels and Razorbacks dating back to 1908. Arkansas leads the series 23-21-1 and has won four of the last five meetings, including 34-0 last year in Fayetteville, Ark. Arkansas lists the series as 24-20-1, claiming a victory in a disputed game back in 1914, a game in which Ole Miss won 13-7. The two teams met almost yearly between 1937 and 1969, before the series took a break until 1981. The two schools have played yearly since 1981 and Ole Miss is 6-11-1 against the Razorbacks since the series resumed. Ole Miss holds a 5-4 advantage during the 1990s. The two teams have met in Oxford just three times with the Rebels winning all three meetings- 25-0 in 1928, 17-7 in 1955 and 19-9 in 1997.

REBELS OFF TO BACK-TO-BACK 6-2 STARTS
The win over LSU also gives Ole Miss its second straight 6-2 start. The Rebels went to 6-2 last year after defeating LSU 37-31 in overtime in Oxford before finishing the regular season at 6-5. A win Saturday against Arkansas would give Ole Miss its best nine-game record at 7-2 since going 8-1 in 1990 en route to a 9-3 record and a berth in the Gator Bowl.
REBELS ON TV
Saturday's game will mark Ole Miss' 101st television appearance in school history dating back to the Rebels' first network TV appearance in the 1953 Sugar Bowl against Georgia Tech. Ole Miss is 45-54-2 all-time in TV games. It is Ole Miss' fourth TV appearance this season, marking the third straight season the Rebels have played at least four TV games. Ole Miss is 1-2 in TV games this season, losing 37-34 in overtime to Vanderbilt on Sept. 18, defeating Auburn 27-24 in overtime on Sept. 25, and losing 30-24 to Alabama on Oct. 16. The Vanderbilt and Auburn games were televised by Jefferson Pilot while CBS aired the Alabama game.
Saturday's game will be the Rebels' fifth appearance on ESPN2 and their first since the 1997 game at Mississippi State, which Ole Miss won 15-14. The Rebels are 1-4 all-time on ESPN2.
This will be the eighth time Ole Miss and Arkansas has played on TV and the Rebels are 7-1 against the Razorbacks on TV. The two schools have played the previous two years on TV, with ESPN carrying the Rebels 19-9 win in a Thursday night game in 1997, and Arkansas winning 34-0 last year on Jefferson Pilot. During the decade of the 1990s, Ole Miss is 16-21 in television games.
ROAD WARRIORS
This past Saturday's win over LSU in Baton Rouge, La., was the Rebels' fourth straight road victory, their longest streak since winning five straight road games over the course of the 1990 and 1991 seasons. During that streak, the Rebels defeated Arkansas 21-17 in Little Rock, Georgia 28-12, Vanderbilt 14-13, LSU 19-10, Tulane 22-3 to open the 1991 season and Memphis State 10-0. This season, Ole Miss is a perfect 4-0 on the road, having defeated Memphis 3-0 to open the year, Auburn 24-17 in overtime, South Carolina 36-10 and LSU 42-23. It is also the first time Ole Miss has won four road games in a single-season since 1990 when the Rebels went 4-0 in road games. A win over Mississippi State Thanksgiving Night would give Ole Miss its first season with at least five road wins since the Rebels' 1960 national championship season when they went 6-0 on the road.
The win over LSU also gave the Rebels three straight SEC road wins for the first time since 1990. The last time Ole Miss won four straight conference road games was between 1959 and 1961 when the Rebels won five straight SEC road contests over Mississippi State 42-0 to close out the 1959 season, Vanderbilt 26-0, Tulane 26-13 and Tennessee 24-3 in 1960, and Kentucky 20-6 in their first SEC road game in 1961. The last time Ole Miss won four conference road games in the same season was in 1955 when the Rebels defeated Georgia 26-13 in Atlanta, Tulane 27-13, LSU 29-26 and Mississippi State 26-0.
MILLER'S TD PASS STREAK
When junior QB Romaro Miller (Shannon, Miss.) found senior WR Cory Peterson (Germantown, Tenn.) for a four-yard TD pass in the first quarter against LSU, it extended Miller's streak to seven consecutive games with at least one TD pass, one shy of Archie Manning's (1968-70) school record of eight straight games. The only game this season Miller hasn't thrown a TD pass was in the season-opener at Memphis. Manning had at least one TD pass in the final two regular season games of 1969, one in the 1970 Sugar Bowl against Arkansas, and then had at least one TD pass in the first five games of the 1971 campaign.
In 19 career starts, including last December's Sanford Independence Bowl, Miller has thrown at least one TD pass in 15 of his starts.
Rebels In The 'Red' Zone
When the offense moves the ball inside the opponent's 20-yard line, the offense is considered to be in the 'red zone,' and in prime scoring position. The following chart shows how the Rebel offense has performed inside the 'red zone' this season:

CUTCLIFFE'S START AMONG BEST BY OLE MISS COACHES
First-year head coach David Cutcliffe's 7-2 start at Ole Miss ties him with legendary coach John Vaught and Billy Kinard for the second-best nine-game start by an Ole Miss coach in school history. Harry J. Mehre owns the best nine-game start by a coach in Rebel history as he guided his 1938 team an 8-1 start en route to a 9-2 campaign. The following chart shows the top five nine-game starts by an Ole Miss head coach and what he did in his 10th game as the Rebels' coach.

ONE-TWO PUNCH
For the second time in two years, junior RB Deuce McAllister (Morton, Miss.) and sophomore RB Joe Gunn (Amory, Miss.) both rushed for 100 yards in the same game. McAllister gained 140 yards rushing on 25 carries with two TDs against LSU this past Saturday and Gunn added 135 yards on 19 carries with two TDs. Last year, the Rebel tandem posted 100-yard rushing performances against Arkansas State with McAllister gaining 124 yards and Gunn 122.
Through eight games this season, Gunn and McAllister have combined for 1,263 yards on 239 carries with 13 TDs - an average of 5.3 yards per carry. Gunn leads Ole Miss in rushing with 817 yards on 154 carries and McAllister has 446 yards on 85 carries in seven games this season. Last season, the duo combined for 1,628 yards to form the second-highest, single-season total by a tandem in school history behind the 1949 duo of Kayo Dottley (1,312) and Billy Mustin (555) who combined for 1,867 yards.
GUNN, McALLISTER AMONG SEC RUSHING LEADERS
RBs Joe Gunn and Deuce McAllister rank second and fifth, respectively, in the latest SEC statistics in rushing. Gunn is averaging 102.1 yards rushing per game behind only Alabama's Shaun Alexander's 147.4 yards rushing per game. Gunn also ranks 24th nationally. McAllister is fifth in the SEC in rushing at 63.7 yards rushing per game (see Rebels in the SEC/NCAA Statistics in box on the right).

MORE ON GUNN, McALLISTER'S 100-YARD RUSHING GAME
The 135 yards rushing by Joe Gunn marked his fifth 100-yard rushing performance of the season and the seventh of his career. His seven career 100-yard rushing games ranks fourth on the Ole Miss career list for 100-yard rushing games. Dou Innocent (1991-92, 94-95) holds the school career record with 10. For McAllister, it was his first 100-yard rushing game of the season and the sixth of his career, tying him with Cory Philpot (1991-92) for fifth on the school career list for 100-yard rushing performances (see the Rebel Record Book in the box on the right).
ONE FINAL RUSHING NOTE
As a team, the Rebels recorded 323 yards rushing against LSU on 49 carries to post Ole Miss' first 300-yard rushing game since gaining 380 yards on the ground against Tulane in 1990.
Ole Miss currently leads the SEC in rushing and ranks 22nd nationally, averaging 189.5 yards rushing per game (see Rebels in the SEC/NCAA Statistics in the box on the right).
McALLISTER GOES OVER 1,000 ALL-PURPOSE YARDS
Deuce McAllister tallied 258 all-purpose yards against LSU to go over the 1,000-yard mark in all-purpose yards for the second consecutive season. McAllister has 1,052 all-purpose yards in seven games this season for an average of 150.2 yards per game, ranking second in the SEC and 17th nationally (see Rebels in the SEC/NCAA Statistics in the box on the right). Last season, McAllister tallied 1,236 all-purpose yards.
The LSU game was also the second straight game McAllister has posted over 200 all-purpose yards. He accumulated a career-high 269 all-purpose yards against Alabama on Oct. 16 in Oxford. Against the Tigers, McAllister had 140 yards rushing, 16 yards receiving, 29 yards on two punt returns and 73 yards on three kickoff returns. The two punt returns were the first of his career.
PETERSON CLIMBING THE CHARTS
Cory Peterson had five receptions against LSU to move him into a tie for second-place on the Ole Miss career receptions list with Floyd Franks (1968-70) at 127. Peterson is now 12 receptions shy of tying Ta'Boris Fisher's (1993-94, 95-96) school record of 139 career receptions. Peterson's 41 receiving yards against the Tigers moved him into fourth-place for career receiving yards at Ole Miss with 1,744, surpassing Franks with 1,707. Peterson needs 16 more receiving yards to catch Michael Harmon (1979-82) in third-place with 1,760 yards. Willie Green (1986-89) is the school's career leader for receiving yards with 2,274 (see the Rebel Record Book on page 4).

PETERSON CLOSING IN ON ANOTHER MILESTONE
Cory Peterson's five receptions against LSU inched him closer to becoming just the second Ole Miss player to record at least 40 receptions in three consecutive seasons. Peterson currently has 38 catches on the season. The only other Rebel to do so was Ta'Boris Fisher (1993-96), who caught 41 passes in 1994, 45 in 1995 and 40 in 1996. Peterson tallied 40 receptions in 1997, 41 in 1998.
SACK ATTACK
Ole Miss had three sacks against LSU to extend its streak to 19 straight regular season games with at least one QB sack. The last time the Rebels didn't register at least one QB sack was in the 1997 regular-season finale at Mississippi State.
For the season, Ole Miss has recorded 30 sacks for 181 yards, ranking third in the SEC behind Florida and Alabama with 31. The 30 sacks by the Rebels this season surpasses last season's total of 24. Senior DT Kendrick Clancy (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) leads the team in sacks with 6.5 for 37 yards.
REBELS FOURTH IN THE NATION AGAINST THE RUN
Ole Miss ranks fourth in the latest NCAA Division I-A statistics in rushing defense at 65.1 yards per game after limiting LSU to 15 yards rushing on 25 carries this past Saturday. The Rebels have held seven of their eight opponents this season to under 100 yards rushing, and four of their eight opponents to under 50 yards rushing (see Rebels in the SEC/NCAA Statistics on page 4).
ARKANSAS REBELS
Ole Miss has three players on its 1999 roster that hail from the state of Arkansas: senior TE Adam Bettis (Sherwood), senior DT Michael Boone (West Helena), sophomore RB Charles Stackhouse (West Memphis).
MISSISSIPPI RAZORBACKS
According to its 1999 media guide, Arkansas has one player that hails from the Magnolia state: senior FL Emanuel Smith (Clinton).

- Ole Miss has an all-time record of 182- 145-12 (.555 winning percentage) in the month of November.

- Senior SS Ronnie Heard (Lake Jackson, Texas) scored his first career TD with a 28-yard interception return in the third quarter against LSU. It was Heard's fourth career interception, and Heard's TD was the first by a Rebel on an interception return since current junior Shane Elam (Covington, Tenn.) returned an interception 89 yards for a score last year at Vanderbilt.
- Romaro Miller's 103 yards passing against LSU moved him into fifth-place on the Ole Miss career list with 3,803 yards, passing Josh Nelson (1994-95) with 3,703 yards and Russ Shows (1989-92) with 3,778 yards (see the Rebel Record Book on page 4).

- Redshirt freshman FB Toward Sanford (Batesville, Miss.) had a career-long 33- yard rush in the first quarter against LSU to set-up Ole Miss' first score of the night. Sanford finished the night with a career- high 49 yards on three carries.
- Saturday's win gave Ole Miss three consecutive wins over LSU since winning six straight from the Tigers from 1952-57. It also marked the first time the Rebels have won two straight in Baton Rouge since winning in 1966 (17-0) and 1968 (27-24).
