OLE MISS POSTGAME NOTES
* With tonight's win, Ole Miss takes a 6-5 lead in the all-time series vs. South Carolina. With the SEC's rotating schedule, the Rebels and Gamecocks will not meet again until 2006. Ole Miss picks up Kentucky on its schedule next year in place of South Carolina.
* Ole Miss is now 4-0 this season when surrendering 20 points or less.
* The Rebels are now 3-0 on the road this season and 3-0 in night games.
* Since divisional play began in the SEC in 1992, Ole Miss is now 12-11 versus the SEC Eastern Division.
* Sophomore Joe Gunn recorded his fifth career 100-yard rushing game, and third of the season, gaining 127 yards on 16 carries. His five career 100-yard rushing games, ties him with current junior Deuce McAllister for fifth-place on the Rebel career list for 100-yard rushing games.
* Deuce McAllister tallied 174 all-purpose yards tonight - rushing for 65 on nine carries, catching one pass for 43 yards and returning three kickoffs for 66 yards. McAllister's 65 yards of rushing moved him past current Denver Bronco John Avery and into fifth-place on the school's career rushing list with 1,691 yards. McAllister also attempted and completed his first career pass tonight, connecting with Cory Peterson for a 14-yard pickup.
* Romaro Miller completed 9-of-12 passes for 129 yards to pass John Darnell for eighth-place on the Ole Miss career passing list with 3,256 yards. Miller needs 308 yards to tie Stewart Patridge for seventh-place with 3,564 yards.

* Michael Boone's sack in the first quarter gives Ole Miss at least one quarterback sack in its last 16 regular season games. The last time the Rebels did not record at least one QB sack in a regular season game was in the 1997 finale at Mississippi State.
* Senior Al Rice's 37-yard fumble return for a TD in the second quarter was the first by an Ole Miss player since Kyle Wicker returned a fumble nine-yards for a score against Georgia in 1996. It was also Rice's first career TD.
* Deuce McAllister's 43-yard reception from Romaro Miller in the second quarter was a career-long for McAllister.
* South Carolina's second-quarter TD following an Ole Miss turnover, marked the first time this season an Ole Miss opponent has scored off a Rebel turnover. Ole Miss scored two TDs off South Carolina turnovers this evening and are outscoring opponents 28-7 off turnovers this season.
* Ole Miss' 93-yard drive late in the second quarter was the Rebels' first 90-yard plus scoring drive since a three-play, 96-yard drive against Arkansas in Oxford on 1997. Current Denver Bronco John Avery capped that drive with a 97-yard run. Tonight's drive took seven plays and spanned 2:45 with Romaro Miller connecting with former Shannon High School teammate Jamie Armstrong for a 33-yard TD strike.
* Ole Miss recorded its first safety since last year against South Carolina when the Gamecock center snapped the ball over the head off USC QB Mikal Goodman and out of the end zone in the fourth quarter.
SOUTH CAROLINA POSTGAME NOTES
* The attendance of 81,600 is South Carolina's seventh largest home crowd ever. This season's opening day crowd of 82,605 for the East Carolina game was the fifth largest. The Williams-Brice Stadium one game record crowd is 83,700 for the 1997 game against Clemson. Total attendance for two home games this season is 164,205, an average of 82,102.5 per game.
* The second quarter fumble recovery by sophomore defensive end Kalimba Edwards was his first of the season and the second of his career.
* The fumble recovery set up a five-play, 51-yard drive capped by a three-yard touchdown run by freshman fullback Andrew Pinnock who was playing in his first career collegiate game. The big play in the drive was a 39-yard pass completion from freshman quarterback Mikal Goodman to wide receiver Jermale Kelly.
* The 42-yard third quarter field goal by senior Steve Florio was his second of the season and 12th of his career in 19 attempts.
* Prior to the fourth quarter safety by Ole Miss, the last safety scored against South Carolina was by Kentucky last year.
* South Carolina's school record 15-game losing streak, the nation's longest, ties the record for most consecutive winless games. The Gamecocks went 15 games during the 1963 and 1964 seasons without a win, but there were three ties during that period.
