BOZEMAN, Mont. - Senior Frankie Boyd scored a career high 27 points and 13 rebounds as the Ole Miss women's basketball team overcame a 17-point deficit in the second half to defeat Montana State 69-60 and capture the Lady Kat GranTree Classic, Saturday night. The win gives the Lady Rebels their 34th regular season tournament title as they improve to 3-1 on the year.

The game remained close in the first half as both teams struggled to shoot the ball. Ole Miss' Von-Gretchen Kirk made two free throws with 10:43 left in the first half to give Ole Miss a five-point lead, but Montana State would take the lead on a three-pointer by Amy Meckling with 6:39 remaining in the half. Lezlee Weedin's three with less than a minute gave the Bobcats a five- point (25-20) halftime lead.

Montana State (1-2) opened up the second half with a 9-2 run to take a 34-22 lead with 15:56 to go in the game. Ole Miss cut it to five with 12:38 left on a field goal by freshman Shayla Day, a three-pointer by Heather Bantz and a jumper by Boyd.

The Lady Kats answered with a 12-0 run to jump out to a 17-point (50-33) lead with 9:51 left in the game. That's when Boyd took over. She scored 22 of her 27 points in the final 10 minutes of the game.

Montana State led 57-49 with 5:33 remaining when Takela Corbitt hit a three-pointer and Boyd followed with a three-point play to get Ole Miss within two. Montana State couldn't convert on the other end, and back-to-back field goals by Boyd gave the Lady Rebels a two-point lead, their first lead since the 8:41 mark of the first half.

Ole Miss led by five with 2:48 to go, when Becky Myatt nailed a three to make it an eight- point lead and the Lady Rebels would go on for the 69-60 victory.

Myatt earned All-Tournament team honors along with Frankie Boyd. She had 14 points, six rebounds and seven assists in the Lady Rebels first-round win over Bowling Green. Corbitt had a solid tournament scoring 11 points in the championship game to go with her 12 against Bowling Green.

Senior Sinissia Wysinger tied Boyd in rebounds with 13, two off her career high. TaShondrea Moton grabbed a career-high nine rebounds, while Day added eight points and five rebounds in the winning effort.
