Baseball Blasts Memphis, 10-5

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Ole Miss Rebels put up nine runs in a four inning stretch to overcome a 3-1 deficit and defeat the Memphis Tigers 10-5 Wednesday night.
Justin Huisman went 3-for-4 and Burney Hutchinson homered, doubled and drove in three runs to pace the Rebels attack.
Ole Miss improved to 24-17 overall, while Memphis dropped to 23-15-1.
With the Rebels trailing 3-1 in the top of the sixth inning, Hutchinson hit a two-run homer to tie score. But, Memphis put up two runs in the bottom of the sixth to go ahead 5-3.
Huisman singled to lead off the seventh and scored on Kris Cox's single. Brad Henderson hit a sac fly to score John Massey as the Rebels tied the score at 5-5.
Ole Miss scored four runs in the top of the eighth to take the lead for good. Huisman drove in Hutchinson to give the Rebels a 7-5 lead and Henderson drove in two runs with a two-out single to give Ole Miss an 9-5 lead. The Rebels added an insurance run in the ninth for the final 10-5 score.
Joey Cramblitt pitched five and one-third innings of relief to get the win for the Rebels. Cramblitt gave up two runs on five hits with two walks and four strikeouts to improve to 3-2 on the season.
Jason Carter took the loss for Memphis after giving up two runs on two hits and not recording an out. Carter was the sixth of eight pitchers used by the Tigers and fell to 0-1 with the loss.
The 20th-ranked Rebels hit the road to take on Auburn in a three game series this weekend. Game one of the series will be on Friday with first pitch slated for 6:30 p.m.
