Dixon, Fisher Lead Rebel Cross Country Team

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Sophomores Chad Dixon and Gordon Fisher finished third and fourth, respectively, to lead the Ole Miss men's cross country team to a second-place at the Plough Park Invitational, hosted by the University of Memphis on Friday.
Dixon finished the four-mile course with a collegiate personal best of 21 minutes, 24 seconds. Fisher also finished with a collegiate best on a four-mile course with a time of 21:30. Senior Calvin Thigpen finished seventh in 22:02 to give the Rebels three runners in the top 10.
Memphis junior Kevin Foltz won the men's race with a time of 21:13.
Memphis won the men's team title with 38 points, edging the Rebels by six points. Murray State finished third with 69 points, followed by Rhodes College (94), St. Louis (104), Mississippi College (182), Christian Brothers University (209) and West Alabama (240).
On the women's side, Kelly Gable was the Lady Rebels' top finisher, placing 18th. Gable covered the two-mile course in 12:45.
Janelle Quigley, of Southeast Missouri State, placed first overall with a time of 11:17.
As a team, the Lady Rebels finished seventh in the 12-team field with 204 points. Southeast Missouri State won the team title with 35 points, easily outdistancing second-place UAB with 54 points. Murray State (92) finished third, followed by Memphis (108), St. Louis (119), Rhodes College (177), Ole Miss (204), UT-Martin (234), Mississippi College (261), North Alabama (270), Hendrix College (288), and West Alabama (354).
