Kuria Finishes 67th at NCAA Cross Country Championships

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Ole Miss junior Bernie Kuria finished 67th at Monday's NCAA Cross Country Championships, hosted by Furman University.
Kuria finished the 10,000-meter course at the Furman University Golf Course in a time of 30 minutes, 57 seconds.
The native of Kenya is just the second Rebel to run at the NCAA Championships in school history. Pablo Sierra was the first Ole Miss runner to do so back in 1992.
Kuria qualified for the NCAA Championships with his fourth-place finish at the NCAA District IX Championship meet, Nov. 15 in Birmingham, Ala. He also became just the third Rebel runner to ever earn All-Southeastern Conference honors two-straight years, with his ninth-place finish at the SEC Championships on Nov. 1.
UCLA's Mebrahtom Keflezighi won the men's individual title with a time of 28:54, finishing seven seconds ahead of Michigan's Kevin Sullivan. Arkansas' Ryan Wilson was the top SEC finisher, placing fifth with a time of 29:13.
Stanford captured the men's team title, edging out Arkansas 53-56.
