Men's Golf Team Moves into Fourth Place

LAKELAND, Fla. - The Ole Miss men's golf team, in 10th place at the Charley Matlock Collegiate Classic after the first round with a 292, fired a 282 in the second round Saturday and moved into fourth place with a two-day total of 574.
Jon Bartlett, a junior from Ocala, Fla., followed his first-round 72 with a 67 on Saturday to move into a four-way tie for third place with a 139. Haymes Snedeker, a senior from Nashville, Tenn., shot a 72 in the first round and a 70 in the second round and is tied for 10th place with a 142.
Sophomore Troy Muller of Braithwaite, La., is tied for 34th place after shooting a 75-71--146. Sophomore Phil Caravia of Belleville, Ill., is tied for 50th place with a 73-76--149, and Peter Pugh, a senior from Grenada, Miss., is tied for 75th with an 80-74--154.
Alabama leads the tournament with a 277-292--569, followed by Virginia Commonwealth with a 284-286--570 and Georgia State with a 286-287--573. Jaco Rall of Columbus State is the individual leader with a 69-67--136, followed by Erik Knudsen of Virginia Commonwealth with a 67-71--138.
Ole Miss, with four top five and five top 10 performances in five tournaments this year, plays the final round of the tournament Sunday.
