GAINESVILLE, Fla. Ole Miss senior Joseph Bernard finished sixth in the decathlon with 6,510 points and senior Jon Parry pulled out of the decathlon with a pulled hamstring in the second day of the Southeastern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by University of Florida.
Bernard's point total of 6,510 is a personal best and ranks fifth on the school's all-time best performance list. Bernard place sixth at last year's SEC Outdoor Championships in the decathlon.
Parry was the leader in the event after the first day of competition. He was then forced to drop out of the event after pulling his hamstring during the pole vault.
