Track & Field’s Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan on The Bowerman Watch List April Update

NEW ORLEANS – Ole Miss track & field senior and four-time NCAA Champion Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan remains on the watch list for The Bowerman for 2026, as announced in its April update on Thursday afternoon.
The Bowerman – collegiate track & field's version of the Heisman Trophy – began in 2009 and is presented each year to the most outstanding male and female athletes in the nation. The trophy is named after famed Oregon head coach, Bill Bowerman.
This is the 13th watch list appearance for Robinson-O'Hagan, all consecutively, since first doing so in the preseason for the 2025 season. His first connection with The Bowerman, however, was as an award semifinalist following his superb sophomore campaign in 2024. Robinson-O'Hagan is the lone thrower on the April watch list and one of four from the SEC alongside Auburn sprinter Kanyinsola Ajayi, Alabama sprinter Samuel Ogazi and Auburn hurdler Ja'Kobe Tharp.
Robinson-O'Hagan is currently the national leader in the shot put at his latest season-best 20.86m/68-05.25 from his last time out at the Virginia Challenge two weeks ago. This outdoor season, that toss ranks him third among all Americans and 10th worldwide, while his overall PR 21.18m/69-6 from this indoor season still has him at No. 9 on the absolute world list for 2026.
His season-opening hammer best of 77.62m/254-8, meanwhile, ranks third in the NCAA and 14th worldwide this season. That blast at the Ole Miss Classic on March 20 shattered both the facility and his own school record, and it ranked as the best all-time that early into the collegiate season. Historically, his new hammer PR moved him to No. 2 all-time among American-born collegiate hammer throwers behind Oregon's Ken Flax in 1986 (78.34m/257-0), but now ranks behind new American collegiate record holder Texas Tanner of Air Force (78.87m/258-9), Flax, and Iowa's Ryan Johnson (77.64m/254-9).
Robinson-O'Hagan entered 2026 already as the collegiate record holder in combined outdoor shot/hammer PRs, but his new hammer best combined with his outdoor shot PR of 20.88m puts him at 98.50m – making him the first collegian to surpass 98 meters. Only Robinson-O'Hagan and now Tanner (98.11m) have done so in the college careers.
Indoors, Robinson-O'Hagan won USTFCCCA South Region Men's Field Athlete of the Year, SEC Men's Field Athlete of the Year and was the sole winner of the men's SEC Cliff Harper Trophy following his third straight conference sweep and scored all 16 national points for the 15th-place Rebel men after winning his third consecutive indoor national title in the shot put and finishing third in the weight throw.
Robinson-O'Hagan's three-peat made him one of only three in Division I men's history to claim three indoor shot put titles in a row alongside Kansas' Karl Salb (1969-71), UTEP's Hans Hoglund (1973-75) and Arizona State's Ryan Whiting (2008-10). He ended his spectacular indoor career at Ole Miss with those three national titles, seven First-Team All-America awards and an astounding 50 career NCAA Indoor points scored. He also ended his indoor career second in collegiate history in combined shot/weight PRs (45.53m), No. 13 all-time in the weight throw (24.35m/79-10.75) and No. 20 all-time in the shot indoors (21.18m/69-6).
Across his spectacular career, Robinson-O'Hagan is a four-time NCAA Champion, 14-time All-American, 11-time SEC Champion, five-time SEC Field Athlete of the Year, four-time SEC points trophy winner and 12-time SEC medalist with 75 career NCAA points and 124 SEC points scored.
