Lady Rebels Fall to No. 5 Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. - Coco Miller scored 21 points and fifth-ranked Georgia held Mississippi without a field goal for 11:36 as the Lady Dogs overpowered the Lady Rebels 81-43 Sunday.

Ole Miss (12-6, 3-4 Southeastern Conference) shot only 25 percent and Becky Myatt was its top scorer with eight points.

The Lady Rebels made three of their first six shots to take a 7-4 lead, then went the next 11:36 without a field goal. When Julianne Signaigo hit a jumper with 5:07 left in the half, Georgia (18-1, 6-1) had taken a 27-11 lead.

The Lady Dogs outscored Mississippi 19-0 over one stretch, sparked by Pam Irwin-Osbolt, who came off the bench to hit three baskets and feed Kiesha Brown for a layup after a steal in the press.

Ole Miss shot 24 percent in the first half, was outrebounded 30-17 and made four turnovers more than Georgia. The Lady Dogs led 40-18 at the half.

Kelly Miller added 13 points for Georgia, and Irwin-Osbolt finished with 11. Tawana McDonald had 11 rebounds for Georgia.
