Lady Rebels Finish Eighth at Alabama Relays

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The Lady Rebel track and field team recorded a top 10 finish after final-day action at the Alabama Relays on Sunday. The Lady Rebels finished in eighth place among 23 teams with 14 points.
On the men's side, Ole Miss finished 13th in a 24-team field.
The women's squad posted three top-five finishes in the relays held on Sunday. The Lady Rebel 400-meter relay team placed third (46.08), while the 3200-meter (9:59.77) and sprint medley (3:59.95) relay squads both recorded fifth-place finishes. In the triple jump, freshman Monica Barnett placed 10th with a mark of 36-11.5.
Junior Marcus Jones led the Rebel effort in final-day action at the relays. Jones finished third in the high jump (6-9) and seventh in the triple jump (49-6.5). Freshman Savante' Stringfellow placed fourth in the high jump with a mark of 6-9. The Rebels had two relay teams finish among the top 10, with the 1600-meter squad placing fourth (3:11.42) and the 800-meter team placing seventh (1:26.73).
