OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss officials announced Wednesday that they have exhausted their entire allotment of tickets for the Sept. 25 football game at Auburn.
"We received 7,000 tickets from Auburn for this game and they have all been sold," said Sans Russell, assistant athletic director for ticket operations.
Russell also announced that Ole Miss is running 21 percent ahead of last year's pace for full-price season tickets.
"Our office continues to receive ticket orders and phone calls about purchasing season tickets each day," Russell said. "Interest in the season is at an all-time high when it comes to season tickets. Our fans can't wait for the 1999 season to begin."
David Cutcliffe will begin his first full season as head coach of the Rebels when Ole Miss kicks off the campaign Sept. 4 at the University of Memphis. After replacing Tommy Tuberville as head coach on Dec. 2, Cutcliffe is already 1-0 at Ole Miss, having directed the Rebels to a 35-18 victory over Texas Tech in the 1998 Sanford Independence Bowl.
