EL PASO, Texas -- Junior Latoria Jordan, a member of the Lady Rebel track and field squad, set an Ole Miss record in the triple jump in action at the Sierra Providence/UTEP Invitational late Saturday night.

Jordan placed sixth in the event with a school record mark of 41-3, breaking the previous triple jump record of 40-10 1/4 set by teammate Tisha Parker during the 1997 outdoor season. With Jordan's effort late Saturday, new school records have been set in all three jumping events this season. Earlier in the outdoor campaign, Parker set a school record in the long jump (21-2) at the Alabama Relays on Mar. 28, and freshman Emily Fontenot recorded a school record in the high jump (5-10) at the Ole Miss Invitational on Apr. 4.

Parker also participated at the UTEP Invitational, competing in the long jump. Parker placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 20-9.

The Ole Miss men's and women's track and field teams will return to action on Apr. 18 when they travel to Starkville, Miss., to compete in the Mississippi State Invitational.
