Ole Miss Falls to Southern Miss, 10-6

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) -- Scott Cheek hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning Tuesday to give Southern Mississippi a 9-4 lead and the Golden Eagles went on to a 10-6 win over Mississippi.
Southern Miss (22-15) took at 2-0 lead in the first on a two-run home run by Jeremy Albritton. The Eagles went up 7-0 after four innings.
Ole Miss (20-19) rallied for four runs in the fifth, highlighted by a Bobby Kielty's two-run double, to cut the lead to 7-4.
However, Cheek gave the Golden Eagles some breathing room with his two-run blast in the seventh.
Denny Shupe (4-0) earned the win for Southern Mississippi, pitching 2 2/3 innings of relief.
Will Mosley (1-2) suffered the loss for Ole Miss.
Michael Rosamond hit his eighth home run of the year for the Rebels with a solo shot in the eighth.
Albritton went 3-for-5 with three RBI's to pace the Golden Eagles' 12-hit attack.
