OXFORD, Miss. - After an off day Wednesday the Ole Miss football team returned to the practice field Thursday, going through a two-and-half hour workout.
The Rebels spent the first 90 minutes of practice working on individual technique before focusing in on their offensive and defensive schemes over the last hour of practice.
Fourth-year head coach Tommy Tuberville described Thursday's workout as sluggish and noted his team still has plenty to learn."
We were a little sluggish today," Tuberville said. "We're still making a lot of mistakes. We need to make more improvement at linebacker and defensive line. We didn't get a lot done other than conditioning."
The Rebels will practice again Friday as they continue preparations for their season-opener on Sept. 5 against Memphis.
