Women's Basketball Travels to Alabama

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's basketball team will travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., Thursday to take on the 19th-ranked Crimson Tide at 7:00 p.m., in Coleman Coliseum.
The Lady Rebels (11-4, 2-2) are coming off back-to-back conference wins over Mississippi State (69-61) and Kentucky (60-57). The Crimson Tide enter the game with a 10-5 overall record, 0-3 in the SEC. They are coming off a 73-69 loss to Auburn last Thursday in their last outing.
Ole Miss leads the overall series 22-9, but the Crimson Tide have won six of the last seven meetings. Ole Miss holds a 7-5 advantage in games played in Tuscaloosa. Alabama won last year's meeting, a 82-62 victory in Oxford. Ole Miss' last win in the series came during the 1996 season as the Lady Rebels defeated Alabama 65-55 in Oxford.
Tarsha Bethley leads Ole Miss in scoring with 16.5 points per game. She is also averaging a team-leading 7.8 rebounds per game. Bethley is among the top eight in both categories in the SEC. She recorded her 14th double-double in Sunday's game with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
The Crimson Tide are led by Dominique Canty, who ranks second in the league with 20.4 points per game. LaToya Caudle leads Alabama on the boards with 7.4 per game. Alabama is averaging 80.8 points per game, while allowing opponents only 65.8 points per game.
After Thursday's game, the Lady Rebels will return home to host LSU on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Tad Smith Coliseum.
