NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The Ole Miss women's golf team ended the fall season Tuesday with a victory as they captured the Tulane Green Wave Classic with a 322-314-306--942. Senior Lauren Mellen took medalist honors with a 75-75-73--223 at the Par 74 Lakewood Country Club.

Ole Miss placed three in the top five to win the tournament by five strokes over Tulane. The Lady Rebels posted their fourth top five finish in five tournaments this fall and ended the season with three medalists and a runner-up. The Lady Rebels finished fifth at the Florida State Lady Seminole Invitational, third at the Lady Rebel Intercollegiate and second at the Beacon Woods Invitational.

"I am very proud of the team and Lauren for winning this tournament," head coach Keil Purdom said. "Lauren played steady, solid golf for three rounds to win her second collegiate title. We enjoyed a successful fall season, and it is a tribute to the team's hard work and dedication."

With the win, Mellen ties for second in the Ole Miss record book with the most tournament victories with two. She also picked up her third top 10 finish of the season and ended the fall campaign with a team-leading 75.64 stroke average. For her career, Mellen has 10 top 10 finishes.

Robyn Rinaldo shot a 83-78-75--236 to finish fourth for her second top 10 finish of the season. She won the Florida State Lady Seminole Invitational, posting the lowest three-round score (220) by a Lady Rebel in the history of the program.

Breen earned her fourth top five finish in five tournaments as she came in fifth with a 81-78-79--238. She needs only one more top five finish this year to set the record for most top five finishes in a season, held by Britt (1990-91). The junior from Longwood, Fla., had a successful fall campaign. She finished third at the Florida State Lady Seminole Invitational, took fifth at the Lady Rebel Intercollegiate and won the Beacon Woods Invitational.

Freshman Annie Long carded a 85-83-79--247 to finish 18th and pick up her first top 20 showing of the season and Marci Kornegay tied for 22nd with a 83-85-82--250.
