OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss officials announced Monday that 21,300 season tickets for the 1999 football season have already been sold with orders still being received daily.
"This 21,300 season tickets total does not include those being sold to Ole Miss students," said Sans Russell, assistant athletic director for ticket operations.
Russell also announced that his office will begin mailing season tickets this Friday, August 20.
"Not only will we be mailing season ticket orders on Friday, but also tickets purchased for our away games," Russell said. "Individual home game orders will be mailed Friday, August 27."
As far as away games are concerned, Ole Miss has already sold its entire allotment for the Sept. 25 game at Auburn, while less than 400 tickets remain for the Oct. 30 game at LSU. All sideline tickets for the Oct. 16 home game with Alabama have been sold.
"We will be selling season tickets at the stadium Saturday afternoon during 'Meet the Rebels Day,' which begins at 1:00," Russell said. "We will also be selling individual home and away tickets at the Athletic Ticket Office in the Rebel Shop, located next to the stadium." Season tickets at Ole Miss will remain on sale through Sept. 10.
Ole Miss will open the 1999 season on Sept. 4 at Memphis. Home games in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium are set with Arkansas State, Vanderbilt, Tulane, Alabama, Arkansas, and Georgia.
