OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss men's and women's track teams travel to Fayetteville, Ark. for the SEC Quadrangular on Friday hosted by the University of Arkansas. The meet features Southeastern Conference rivals Arkansas, LSU, Mississippi State and the Vanderbilt women's team.

Both of the nations top-ranked teams will be competing in the meet. The Rebels, ranked 21st in the nation by Trackwire Online, will battle with the top-ranked Arkansas men's team and the 10th ranked LSU men's team, while the Lady Rebels will take on top-ranked LSU and 5th ranked Arkansas.

This will be the second meeting with Mississippi State in as many weeks. The Rebels finished second at the Saluki Invitational, defeating the Bulldogs, who finished third. On the women's side, the Lady Bulldogs won the competition last weekend, while the Lady Rebels finished fourth.

The competition will pit the Rebels and Lady Rebels against some of the best competition in the nation. Currently third in SEC in the high jump, Stringfellow is just behind Mississippi State's Rod Newton, who ranks second.

Freshman sprinter James Shelton, who is fourth in the conference in the 60 meters, will go head-to-head with third ranked Pierre Brown of Mississippi State.

On the women's side, junior sprinter Teneeshia Jones will battle Joyce Bates of LSU in both the 60 meters and the 60-meter hurdles. Jones currently ranks eighth in the SEC in the 60- meter hurdles and ninth in the 60 meters, while Bates ranks first and second respectively.

Field events begin at 1:00 p.m., with running events scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. This will be the final meet held at the University of Arkansas before they begin competing at the new Randall Tyson Track, site of the 2000 SEC and NCAA Indoor Championships.
