* The 45 points scored by the Crimson Tide was the first time Ole Miss has allowed 40 points in a game since SMU scored 41 on Sept. 26, 1998. Ole Miss won that game 48-41 in overtime. It was also the most points allowed by an Ole Miss team since Auburn scored 45 in a 45-28 win over the Rebels on Sept. 14, 1996.

* Tonight's game is the second time this season that Ole Miss has appeared on either ESPN or ESPN2. The Rebels' Sept. 9 game against Auburn was televised by ESPN2. ALABAMA NOTES
* Alabama had two first-time starters on the defensive line tonight. True freshman Antwan Odom (Bayou LaBatre, Ala.) and junior college transfer Aries Monroe (Tallahassee, Fla.) made their first career starts for the Crimson Tide at defensive end against the Ole Miss Rebels. Injuries to Kenny King and David Daniel forced the Tide coaches to shuffle the defensive line, moving Jarret Johnson inside along with Kenny Smith. King and Daniel did see action but did not start. King (DE) and Daniel (DT) should return to the starting lineup next week, allowing Johnson to move back to his normal defensive end position.

* Sophomore defensive end Kenny King (Mobile, Ala.) missed some practice time the last two weeks with a shoulder injury (stinger) and did not start against Ole Miss, breaking his string of 17 consecutive starts. King has started every game of his Alabama career since making his first career start last season against Houston. He played in a backup role in is Alabama debut against Vanderbilt in the 1999 season opener and quickly won a starting job.

* With the season-ending injury to starting tight end Terry Jones, Jr., senior Shawn Draper (Huntsville) moved back to his tight end position and started tonight against Ole Miss. Draper began the season as a tight end and actually started the season opener at UCLA in the Crimson Tide's two tight end package. After the UCLA, Draper moved to tackle and started the next four games on the offensive line. Draper was moved back to tight end during the South Carolina game after Jones was injured in the first quarter.

* Junior flanker Freddie Milons, who suffered a knee injury in practice on Oct. 5, did not dress for the Ole Miss game, marking the fist time in his Alabama career he did not see action for the Tide. Prior to tonight, Milons had played in 30 consecutive games for Alabama since his freshman season in 1998. Milons returned to practice this past Thursday and was held out of the Ole Miss game more as a precautionary measure. He should be back on the field next week against Tennessee. Two weeks ago, Milons streak of 17 consecutive starts ended when he did not make the starting lineup in the Crimson Tide's 27-17 win over South Carolina (Sept. 30).

* Sophomore quarterback Tyler Watts started tonight's game with Ole Miss, his fourth consecutive start for the Crimson Tide. In the first quarter, Watts suffered an injury after a five-yard gain to the Alabama 35-yard line. Watts' injury is a torn ACL in his left knee.

* Alabama has now beaten Ole Miss 10 consecutive times, dating back to the 1989 season. Alabama now leads the all-time series with Ole Miss, 40-6-2. The 10-game winning streak is the longest in the series since Alabama posted 12 straight wins from 1912-32.

* Alabama is now 19-1 all-time against Ole Miss here in Tuscaloosa. In night games, Alabama owns a 6-2 record against the Rebels.

* Alabama is now 14-1 all-time in night games at Bryant-Denny Stadium, including an 11-game winning streak under the lights at home.

* Alabama's 45-7 win over Ole Miss represents the most points scored by Mike DuBose-coached team. The previous high was 42 points in a 42-17 win over Houston in 1997. The 1997 Houston game was DuBose's first game as head coach of the Crimson Tide.

* The 45-7 win also represents the Crimson Tide's largest margin of victory since a 40-0 win over Southern Miss in 1993. The win is also the largest over Ole Miss since a 40- win by the Crimson Tide in 1983.

* Alabama's 21 first-half points are the most by the Crimson Tide this year. The previous high was 17 points in the season opener at UCLA. The Bruins led 21-7 at intermission and won the game 35-24.

* Alabama finished the Ole Miss game with a season-high 464 yards of offense (168 rush/296 pass). In the last two games, Alabama has rolled up 814 yards of total offense and scored 72 points. The 464 yards vs. Ole Miss are the most by Alabama since 505 total yards in a win over Houston (37-10) last season (Sept. 11) at Legion Field.

* Junior quarterback Andrew Zow set an Alabama single-game record with 12 consecutive completions in the win over Ole Miss. Zow completed the last eight passes in the first half and all four in the second half. He will enter the Tennessee game with 12 consecutive completions. The previous record was 11 straight completions by Jay Barker against Mississippi State in 194.

* Zow finished the game completing 18 of 22 passes for 261 yards. He added nine rushed for eight yards and one TD. Zow also completed a two-point pass to receiver Jason McAddley. Zow's 81.8 completion percentage is second all-time Kenny "Snake" Stabler (84.2% vs. Ole Miss, 1966) with a minimum of 15 completions.

* In the second quarter, Zow completed 11 of 12 passes, including his last eight in a row, for 146 yards.

* Zow also moved ahead of Walter Lewis on the Crimson Tide's all-time passing yards list at 4,355 yards. Lewis (1980-83) threw for 4,257 career yards. Zow completed 18 of 22 passes for 261 yards to move into fourth place on the school's all-time passing yards list.

* Sophomore receiver Antonio Carter, who celebrates his 20th birthday (Oct. 15, 1980) on Sunday, hauled in eight passes for a career-high 157 yards. Carter's previous best was 93 yards in the Crimson Tide's 40-39 overtime win over Florida last year (Oct. 2) in the Swamp. Carter's career-high for pas receptions is nine set against Florida (1999) and two weeks ago against South Carolina.

* Carter's 60-yard pass reception from Zow was the longest pass play this season for Alabama by 29 yards. The previous high was a 31-yard reception by tight end Terry Jones, Jr. at Arkansas (Sept. 23).

* Senior strong safety Marcus Spencer recorded his third interception of the 2000 season, tying teammate Milo Lewis for the team lead. It was also Spencer's 11th career interception of his career, the most by an active SEC defender. Spencer's interception gave Alabama a first down at the Ole Miss 30-yard line, but the Tide turned the ball over with an interception on the very next play.

* Senior free safety Tony Dixon recorded his first interception of the 2000 season as he picked off a Romero Miller pass a the Alabama 47-yard line with just over two minutes to play in the first quarter. It was Dixon's second career interception and first since the 1998 season (vs. East Carolina, Oct. 17th).

* True freshman Derrick Woods recorded his first career reception, giving Alabama a first down at the Ole Miss 12-yard line. Wood's 17-yard catch set up the Crimson Tide's first touchdown, a one-yard run by Ahmaad Galloway.

* Senior tight end Shawn Draper recorded his first career reception tonight against Ole Miss and finished the game with two catches for 34 yards.

* Junior safety Reggie Myles recorded his eighth career interception tonight against Ole Miss during the third quarter. Myles returned the interception 36 yards to the Ole Miss 12-yard line. Myles has eight career interceptions for 208 return yards, fifth on the all-time list at Alabama. Myles passed Hootie Ingram (1952-54) on the all-time yardage list in tonight's game. Ingram had 11 career interceptions for 173 total yards.

* Middle linebacker Victor Ellis recorded a blocked field goal and senior cornerback Kecalf Bailey returned the ball 63 yards for a third quarter touchdown. It was Bailey's first career touchdown at Alabama. Bailey now has eight career points, including a defensive two-point return against East Carolina in 1998.
