Lady Rebel Volleyball Falls To Crimson Tide, 3-0

OXFORD, Miss. - The Lady Rebel volleyball team lost to Alabama, 15-11, 15-13, 15-12, Friday night. With the loss, Ole Miss drops to 8-9 overall and 1-4 in SEC play, while the Crimson Tide improves to 14-4 overall and 4-1 in conference play.
Ole Miss raced out to an 11-8 lead in game one before letting Alabama score seven straight points to close out the game. Game two went back and forth with Alabama again coming out victorious. In game three, the Lady Rebels got down 6-1 and fought back to tie the game 12-12, before giving up three straight points to drop the game and match.
Junior outside hitter Jaime Burns led the Lady Rebels in kills with 10 and senior outside hitter Kira Zschau tallied nine kills for Ole Miss. Freshman Jade Polonich recorded 10 digs, sophomore Erica Tricco collected six digs and senior Renata Nowacki also registered six digs. Nowacki also assisted on 31 kills.
Alabama was led by Monica Morales with 12 kills and Michelle Green with 10 kills and 11 digs. Allison Lange contributed 25 assists for the Crimson Tide.
Ole Miss will return to action Sunday at 2 p.m., when they host Auburn at the Gillom Sports Center.
