OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss women's basketball senior guard Becky Myatt was named the Southeastern Conference Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week Monday. Myatt is the first SEC Player of the Week for the 2000-01 women's basketball campaign.

Myatt was named the Most Valuable Player of the Vermont Howard Bank Classic this weekend, as the Lady Rebels captured the championship, defeating Vermont 85-75 in the title game. Myatt scored 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists while playing 36 minutes, to lead the team. She hit four three-pointers, including back-to-back treys with a little over four minutes left, to seal the win.

For the weekend, Myatt averaged 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 three-pointers. She now needs 21 three-pointers to become the all-time leader in that category. In the championship game Myatt finished two points shy of her career high (25) and one rebound short of a career best (8).

Myatt becomes the ninth Lady Rebel to receive SEC Player-of-the-Week honors and the first since Tarsha Bethley earned the honor in November of 1998.
