OXFORD, Miss. -- Fresh off a 38-24 win over Arkansas, the Ole Miss Rebel football team begin preparations for SEC West foe LSU this Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium/Hollingsworth Field in Oxford. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. CST and will be televised by ESPN2.

Ole Miss (6-2, 4-2 SEC) comes into Saturday's game on a two-game winning streak. The Rebels win over Arkansas was the first for them in Fayetteville, Ark. With the sixth win of the year, Ole Miss became bowl eligible for the fourth straight year.

"I thought we had a good team effort against Arkansas," said Ole Miss head coach David Cutcliffe. "We saw improvement in our team, but there is still much improvement to be made. We need to get back out on the practice field and get back to work."

Rebel running back Deuce McAllister recorded his third 100-yard rushing game of the season with 131 yards and two touchdowns against the Razorbacks. McAllister totaled 186 all- purpose yards against Arkansas. He became the first player in Ole Miss history to record three consecutive seasons with at least 1,000 all-purpose yards.

McAllister also tied former Rebel greats Kayo Dottey and Archie Manning for the Ole Miss single-season touchdown mark with 14. He is two points shy of Manning's single-season scoring record of 86 points. He also currently leads the SEC in scoring with 10.5 points per game.

With two touchdown passes against Arkansas, Ole Miss quarterback Romaro Miller became the first Rebel quarterback in history to throw 40 touchdown passes in a career.

LSU (6-3, 4-2 SEC) is coming off a 30-28 win over Alabama in Baton Rouge. That was the Tigers first win over the Crimson Tide in Baton Rouge since 1969. Tiger quarterback Josh Booty threw a career-high four touchdown passes to the tie the LSU record held by six other players. Booty was 18-of-31 for 275 yards against the Tide. LSU receiver Josh Reed caught seven passes for 129 yards and two scores.

"LSU is probably the most balanced team overall we have played," Cutcliffe said. "They are very athletic and they play hard. There are not many things that you can see that they don't do well."

Ole Miss has won three straight over the Tigers. The Rebels took last years meeting 42- 23 in Baton Rouge. That marked the first time that Ole Miss had won two consecutive games at Tiger Stadium since winning there in 1966 and 1968. The Rebels are looking to win four straight from the Tigers for the first time since they won six in a row over the Tigers from 1952- 57.

In last year's game, the Rebels garnered 426 yards of total offense behind McAllister, who had 25 rushes for 140 yards and two touchdowns. Miller was 10-of-23 for 103 yards and one touchdown in the Ole Miss victory.

It was announced on Monday that the Ole Miss vs. Georgia game on Nov. 18 will be televised on ESPN2, with kickoff set for 5 p.m. CST from Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga.
