Softball Falls At UTA/Isuzu Invitational

ARLINGTON, Texas - The Ole Miss Rebels lost two games in the consolation bracket of the University of Texas-Arlington/Isuzu Motors Invitational Saturday.
Ole Miss (0-5) fell behind 4-0 in the third inning against Southwest Texas and were unable to mount a rally as pitcher Jessica Chase limited the Rebels to only three hits.
In the second game of the day, Ole Miss fell behind 3-0 in the first inning against Stephen F. Austin, but rallied with two runs in the top of the third.
Heather Swinney doubled home Amanda Lehotak and later scored on a single by Kaci Coffee to cut the deficit to one.
Stephen F. Austin added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth to go ahead 6-2. Ole Miss cut the lead to 6-3 in the top of the seventh when Rachel Davenport scored after an error by the centerfielder. Ole Miss was unable to continue the rally and dropped the 6-3 decision.
The Rebels return to Oxford to host the Ole Miss Invitational on Feb. 19-20.
