Junior RHP Justin Huisman recorded his 14th career save to set a new Ole Miss career record for saves, breaking the previous mark of 13 set by Skipper Wright (1983-1986).
The one hit allowed over five innings by starter Joey Cramblitt was the fewest he has allowed in a start per nine innings. His previous best was four hits over seven innings in a start against Delta State on March 11, 1998.
With the win, Joey Cramblitt improved his career record to 15-2 versus non-conference opponents.
Junior JC transfer Lance Jones went 2-for-2 in his Ole Miss debut and hit his first career home run with a lead-off shot in the fourth inning.
RS Junior Sim Shanks recorded his first career multiple-hit game by going 3-for-5 with two runs scored.
Sophomore Banks Robinson set a new career high with three hits, and tied his career highs for RBIs (2) and total bases (3).
Freshman RHP Matthew Miller made his collegiate debut, coming in relief of Jon Dickens in the eighth inning.
