OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss head football coach David Cutcliffe announced Wednesday that assistant coaches John Latina and Rich Bisaccia will take on additional responsibilities for the 2000 season.

Latina, who serves as offensive line coach, will assume the role of offensive coordinator, while Bisaccia, the running backs coach and special teams coordinator, will become assistant head coach.

"John and Rich are deserving of the opportunity to take on these extra duties," Cutcliffe said. "Our entire staff had an outstanding year and these new assignments fit our goals and objectives for the future."

Latina and Bisaccia both came with Cutcliffe to Ole Miss prior to the 1998 Independence Bowl. Latina will now coordinate offensive staff meetings and Bisaccia will take on administrative duties and responsibilities pertaining to football.

Under Bisaccia's guidance, Ole Miss produced one of the top rushing tandems in the nation in 1999 as Joe Gunn rushed for 951 yards and Deuce McAllister added another 809. In the special teams area, McAllister was among the Southeastern Conference leaders in kickoff returns.

During the 1999 season, Latina coached a Rebel offensive line that helped establish the second-ranked rushing offense in the SEC and 200-yard passing efforts in eight of their 12 games.

Ole Miss begins spring football drills here on Friday, February 25. The annual Red-Blue game is set for April 1.
