Bartlett Leads Rebels At Mercedes-Benz Collegiate

PONTE VEDRA, Fla. - Ole Miss golfer Jon Bartlett earned his fourth consecutive top 20 finish and helped move the Rebels up three spots on the final day at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championships. Ole Miss fired a final-round 298 Tuesday to finish in a tie for eighth with a 54-hole score of 902 at the Sawgrass Country Club.
Florida won the tournament for the second straight year, totaling a seven-over-par 871. The host North Florida placed second with an 876, while Northwestern posted Tuesday's best round at 290 to move up to third with an 881 total.
Bartlett, a senior from Ocala, Fla., shot a 69-78-74--221 to tie for 12th and pick up his eighth career top 20 finish. Junior Troy Muller carded an 80-71-77--228 to tie for 39th, while sophomore Andrew Medley shot an 80-75-74--229 to rank 41st. Also, Phil Caravia was a stroke back with a 230, and Chris Malloy finished with a 235.
Ole Miss is back in action March 6 and 7 at the Matlock Collegiate Classic in Lakeland, Fla., as the Rebels shoot for a return trip to the NCAA Championships.
