FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Lady Rebel Teneeshia Jones became the most decorated female track and field athlete in Ole Miss history Saturday, with a third place finish in the 60 meters on the final day of competition at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.

The Lady Rebels, based on Jones' scoring, finished in a tie for 18th place nationally, their highest team finish in either the indoor or outdoor championships ever, besting their previous team high of 43rd place in 1994. It is also the third highest finish by any Ole Miss team at either the indoor or outdoor championships in school history. At the 1991 indoor championships, the Rebels finished ninth, the best Ole Miss team finish ever, while they finished 13th at the outdoor championships in 1993.

With the third place finish, Jones, a junior from Shannon, earned her third indoor All-America honor, including her second honor in the 60 meters. She is the only Lady Rebel to ever earn multiple indoor All-America honors, and tied former Rebel Alonzo Banks for the most indoor All-America honors in school history.

Combining for 10 points at the championships, she finished with both the highest individual and team point totals at either the indoor or outdoor championships in Lady Rebel history. On Friday, Jones finished fifth in the 200 meters, to garner All-America honors, and finished ninth in the 60-meter hurdles, just one place shy of advancing to the finals.

For the championships, Jones broke three of her own school records, in the 60 meters, 60-meter hurdles and the 200 meters. She also finished in the top 10 in the nation in all three events, becoming the first Ole Miss athlete to ever finish in the top 10 in three events at the indoor championships.

The Rebels and Lady Rebels will now begin the outdoor season, traveling to Edinburg on March 18, to take part in the Proctor Invitational hosted by the University of Texas-Pan American.
