Women’s Track & Field Closes NCAA East Regional with Two More National Berths
5/30/2026 | Track and Field
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Ole Miss women's track & field earned two additional qualifying performances to the national meet, closing out the Rebels' stay at the 2026 NCAA East First Round on Saturday.
Ole Miss started the day with a national ticket in the 4x100-meter relay, its 10th in the last 11 seasons. The Rebel quartet of Zion Lockette, Patchnalie Compere, Royanah Farmer and Alicia Burnett ran the single-lap relay in 43.52, earning an AQ bid to Oregon for NCAAs as the third-place finisher in their heat.
Combined with the Rebel men's qualifying performance on Friday, this marks the first season since 2015 that Ole Miss will send both 4x100-meter relays to the NCAA Championships.
Burnett, a First-Team All-American who became the first SEC women's 60-meter champion in Ole Miss history indoors, also punched her individual berth in the 100-meter dash roughly 90 minutes later. Burnett blazed to a wind-legal PR 10.98 (+0.3) and earned her AQ as the runner-up in the second heat, joining Olympian McKenzie Long as the lone Rebel women to break the 11-second barrier with a legal wind.
Compere attempted for an individual ticket of her own later in the 200-meter dash quarterfinals, but fell short in 19th place at 23.06 (+0.2).
Ole Miss also had three seniors wrap their excellent Rebel careers in the 5K on Saturday night: Loral Winn (24th, 16:07.99), Beth Arentz (28th, 16:12.82) and Sophie Baumann (46th, 16:46.05).
With the East Regional now complete, Ole Miss will set its sights on the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships, where the Rebels will send 10 athletes on six total entries. The national meet returns this year to TrackTown USA at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field, with competition set to run June 10-13 in Eugene.
