OXFORD, Miss. -- Long runs by Deuce McAllister, Tremaine Turner, and Robert Williams highlighted Friday's football scrimmage at Ole Miss as the Rebels concluded their seventh practice of the spring.
"Nothing is ever as good as it looks or as bad as it looks," head coach David Cutcliffe said following the scrimmage. "Our more experienced players are making plays and our receivers caught the ball well and also made some big plays."
Running backs Charles Stackhouse and Toward Sanford, offensive guard Keydrick Vincent, and linebacker Eddie Strong were held out of the scrimmage due to various injuries.
"We need to get some people back," Cutcliffe said.
McAllister ripped off a 30-yard run for a touchdown, and Turner had TD runs of 30 and 12 yards, plus a 55-yard carry. Williams broke a 70-yarder for a score, while quarterback Romaro Miller tossed a 25-yard TD strike to tight end Doug Zeigler and quarterback Eli Manning connected with tight end Justin Sawyer for a 40-yard TD.
On defense, linebacker Shawn Johnson intercepted a pass, returning it for 30 yards.
Ole Miss will conclude spring drills on April 1 with the annual Grove Bowl.
