VOLTZ FINALIST FOR SEC ACADEMIC AWARD: Senior 1B Jude Voltz has been named a finalist for the 1999-2000 H. Boyd McWhorter SEC Scholar-Athlete Award. As a finalist, Voltz will receive a $5,000 scholarship for post-graduate studies. Each SEC school nominated one male and one female for the award, and a selection committe will name an outstanding male and female scholar-athlete, who will in turn receive a $10,000 post-graduate scholarship, provided by the Alltel Corporation.

INJURY REPORT: Sophomore LHP Nathan Lyons will miss his second straight start Saturday as he not listed on Ole Miss' 25-man dress out roster. Lyons missed his last start against Tennessee due to a sore left arm.

REBEL BULLET POINTS:

Fourth-year head coach Pat Harrison is looking to earn his 100th career victory at Ole Miss tonight. Harrison enters tonight's game with a 99-91 (.521) record with the Rebels, and is 233-208- 2 (.528) in eight-plus seasons overall.

Ole Miss has lost three straight for the first time this season, and has dropped four of its last five. The Rebels have not lost four consecutive games since losing six straight last season from Feb. 28 to March 13.

The Rebels are hitting .200 (37-168) over the last five games, and .165 (16-97) with six runs scored during their three-game losing streak.

Ole Miss is 9-5 at home this season with the five losses equaling the Rebels' total from last season when they went 21-5 at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field.

The Rebels are 7-3 versus left-handed starters, compared to 6-6 against right-handers.
