OXFORD, Miss. - Karl Nonemaker's two-run single in the eighth inning gave the Vanderbilt Commodores a 3-2 victory over Ole Miss Sunday afternoon to salvage the final game of the weekend's three-game Southeastern Conference series.

The victory snapped a seven-game SEC losing streak for the Commodores (11-14, 1-7 SEC).

Ole Miss starter Joey Cramblitt took a 2-0 lead in to the eighth inning. Scott Vanderhoff got the Commodore rally started with a one-out solo home run to left. Kevin Geshke then drew a walk and Ashley Freeman doubled to left center to advance Geshke to third.

Joseph Liberto then came on in relief of Cramblitt and Nonemaker laced a single through the infield and into center field for what proved to be the game winning hit.

Ole Miss put the tying run on second in the ninth. Lance Jones lined a two-out single to center, and Glen Morris was hit by a pitch. Vanderbilt starter Damon Yee then struck out Carl Lafferty to end the game.

Yee (4-2) allowed two runs, scattering 10 hits and walking two, while striking out six to earn the win and record his second complete game of the season.

Cramblitt (3-4) suffered his fourth consecutive loss despite giving Ole Miss 7 1/3 solid innings. He allowed three runs on six hits and one walk, while fanning six.

The Rebels (15-10, 4-4 SEC) out-hit the Commodores 10-7, but managed to get only two runs as Ole Miss stranded 11 runners on base.

Kris Cox and Burney Hutchinson had two hits each for the Rebels, and Jude Voltz went 1-for-4 to extend his career best hitting streak to 12 games.

Nonemaker and Vanderhoff combined for five of the Commodores' seven hits, with Nonemaker going 3-for-4 and Vanderhoff 2-for-2.

Ole Miss scored a run in the fifth on Clint Farrar's RBI ground out to score Banks Robinson, and a run in the sixth on Justin Huisman's RBI single to score Hutchinson.

The Rebels will face Tennessee-Martin at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field.
