Rebel Golfers Seventh At Matlock Invitational After Two Rounds

LAKELAND, Fla. - Senior Jonathan Bartlett of the Ole Miss men's golf team shot a 69-73--142 in the first two rounds of the Matlock Invitational Monday at Grasslands Golf and Country Club and is tied for third in the individual standings.
As a team, the Rebels sit in seventh place after posting rounds of 295 and 294 for a total of 589. Georgia State leads the field of 18 with a 291-288--579. Valdosta State and Duke are tied for second at 582.
Bartlett, who stands at two-under par, is four back of the leader, South Florida's Jeff Klauk, who shot a 138. Bartlett, a native of Ocala, Fla., will be shooting for his fifth consecutive top 20 finish and his second top 10 finish at this tournament. He placed second in last year's Matlock Invitational.
Andrew Medley is tied for 19th with a 76-71--147, and junior Troy Muller carded a 73-75--148 for 27th place. Junior Phil Caravia fired a 77-75--152 and Cedric Denis posted an 80-75--155 to round out the Rebel scoring.
The Rebels will tee it up in the final round Tuesday, needing to make up six shots to equal last year's top five finish in this tournament.
