OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss men's and women's track and field will send contingents to both the Mt. SAC Relays, hosted by Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif., and the Arkansas State Track Classic in Jonesboro, Ark. this weekend.

While competition at the Mt. SAC Relays begins on Friday with high school and community college action, Ole Miss will not begin competing until Saturday, with action continuing through Sunday. A small squad comprised of five Rebels and eight Lady Rebels will be competing. The Mt. SAC Relays are an annual meet featuring all levels of competition, from high school to professional, and is one of the most prestigious outdoor meets in the nation.

Rebel junior Savante' Stringfellow, who will be competing at Mt. SAC, won his first outdoor long jump competition of the season last weekend at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas, and qualified for the NCAA Championships in June, taking over third position in the nation this year. Lady Rebel junior Tisha Parker finished third in the triple jump and tenth in the long jump at the Texas Relays a week ago. Her school record mark in the triple jump improved on her NCAA provisional qualifying mark and ranks her 13th in the NCAA this season.

Action at the ASU meet is scheduled to run all day Saturday, with competition beginning at 9:00 a.m. and concluding at 5:00 p.m. The remaining members of the Rebel and Lady Rebel teams are scheduled to compete at Arkansas State.

The Rebels and Lady Rebels will host the Ole Miss Invitational at the Ole Miss Track & Field Complex next Saturday, the only track and field event held at Ole Miss this year.
