Mississippi State Takes Weekend Series With 12-3 Win.

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State scored nine runs in its last two at-bats to take a 12-3 win over Mississippi Sunday at Dudy Noble Field/ Polk-DeMent Stadium.
The win gave Mississippi State (26-9, 9-6 SEC)a 2-1 series win over the Rebels.
Mississippi State put the first run on the board in the second inning on Ty Martin's second home run in as many days, but the Rebels (23-16, 8-9) responded in kind and took a 2-1 lead two innings later.
The Bulldogs recaptured the lead at 3-2 in their half of the fourth inning before expanding the margin with six runs in the seventh and another troika of runs in the eighth inning in front of more than 6,380 spectators.
Martin's home run highlighted a 2-for-3, three RBI offensive performance for the Bulldog senior.
Brian Terry continued to produce runs for the Bulldogs, knocking in three runs on a 1-for-3 afternoon at the plate.
Mississippi State junior starter Mark Freed (6-0) picked up the win.
Freed went six innings, allowing two runs on seven hits while recording eight strikeouts.
Mississippi starter Joey Cramblitt (4-6) gave up four runs on three hits in 6-1/3 innings of work in the losing effort.
State's Adam Larson gave up a run and a hit over three innings to notch his SEC-leading 10th save.
