OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss offensive tackle Tutan Reyes was chosen in the fifth round of Sunday's National Football League draft by the New Orleans Saints.

Reyes, a 6-3, 300 pounder from Queens, N.Y., was the second pick of the fifth round and the 131st overall selection. Offensive tackle Todd Wade and defensive tackle Kendrick Clancy were chosen during Saturday's opening day of the draft. Wade went to the Miami Dolphins in the second round and Clancy was chosen by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round.

"I just feel blessed to get drafted and having an opportunity to go to the next level," Reyes said. "It was real stressful having sit around and wait to see if I was going to get drafted. I'm glad its over with and happy that the Saints selected me."

Reyes, who came to Ole Miss as a tight end before being switched to offensive tackle, will report to New Orleans on April 28 for mini-camp.

"I just have to go in there and show them I can play whatever position they ask me to play," he said. "I know I must be flexible, because they have a great one in Willie Roaf playing tackle. He's one of the best players in the league."

Reyes, who earned second team All-SEC honors in 1999, saw his stock rise during his senior season. NFL scouts got a closer look when he played in the East-West Shrine Classic and the Senior Bowl.

"This is a player who did everything we asked him to do," said Ole Miss head coach David Cutcliffe. "Tutan worked so hard to earn his shot in the NFL. We're excited for him and his family."
